Home of the Montreal Canadiens
Originally known as the Molson Centre, the venue was built in 1996. It was renamed to the Bell Centre in 2002. The complex was built to replace the legendary Montreal Forum, which had been built in 1924. The Bell Centre is heavily themed by the Montreal Canadiens. There are bronze statues of famous players as well as team photographs throughout the Bell Centre. Many retired Canadiens jerseys are hung from the rafters of the Bell Centre.
Events at the Bell Centre
Many arts and entertainment events are held at the Bell Centre. Over the years, it has become Montreal’s primary venue for major concerts and performances. The Bell Centre hosts everything from Celine Dion concerts to UFC events. Because of its central location, it is easily accessible by public transportation.
